Everyday we strive to bring wonder to our infants. We use bright colors, sounds, touch and rocking. Because our younger infants are immobile this is the perfect time for challenging and to kick-start their physical and intellectual properties. Reading and singing to them, using sound toys and bright colors you see the reactions in their facial expressions, and before you know it; they are reaching for that book or toy. When cleaning them it’s the perfect opportunity to skin to touch; them reaching out to grab your fingers. All the while using a soft voice. This reaffirms they are cared for and loved. This becomes a large part of their make-up.
They are learning to move by crawling, pulling up, and standing. Perfect for floor time to hone in on their motor skills, physical properties and of course targeting intellectual stimuli at the same time. Floor time is used for rolling balls while encouraging them to reach it. Using bright colored toys and hiding it under a blanket will make them want to feel for it and find it. Sitting on the floor during reading time and singing times gives them the perfect opportunity for movement and building their vocabulary.
